How to Spruce up Your Furniture for Sale

When you decide to upgrade that old sofa or change your bedroom furniture there is only one thing wrong; you have to get rid of the old stuff. Many people try giving their old furniture to a charity, but some won't come and pick it up. So why not put your old furniture up for sale and make a few bucks on the side? But before you tack up that furniture for sale notice, you might just want to spruce your old furniture up so that it has a better chance of selling quickly.

Proper furniture restoration is fairly expensive and in some cases time consuming, so there is no need to French polish it. Instead, why not give the furniture that is for sale a quick coat of lacquer or varnish? Or you could perhaps paint it in an attractive colour. This is a great idea for children's beds and wardrobes. You could also add value to the product by giving the unneeded cushions or bedding away with it. This will save you having to take say, sheets and doonas that are too small for the new bed, to the charity shop.

New knobs and handles will also jazz up that furniture that is for sale and make it look smarter. Of course, any furniture for sale should be thoroughly dusted and cleaned - and polished if it is timber. Once people see that your furniture for sale has been cared for and presented nicely, they will be much more inclined to buy it. The best part is that they will be responsible for taking it away.
